1970 Besuch eines dreimonatigen Journalistenkurses (Beginn der Laufbahn als Schriftsteller);
Arbeit als Reporter für die Zeitung "South Wales Echo" in Cardiff
1973 Arbeit als Kolumnist für die "Evening News" in London
Eigene Erkenntnis, als Enthüllungs-Journalist nicht geeignet zu sein: Beginn des Romanschreibens
